Quarter sawn ash is selected to create the simple flowing lines that follow and accentuate the form of this piece. Through sandblasting the growth lines in the wood become not only visible but also 'touchable', they form a relief on the surface of the object.

This artwork is turned on the lathe, sandblasted and then hand painted with multiple layers of thin flat paint to create a very matt finish on the flowing lines.
