A wall object with distinct ash growth rings and a bottom right corner showing of some subtle ripples that have occurred in the life of this tree. A shape inspired by the holes seen in trees, where a branch has broken or been cut off, and the tree repairs itself by growing its bark back over or even in the scarred area. Sometimes I think of this as a very slow wave, rolling into the hole. The back ring has been painted red to give the centre a subtle glow on the wall in certain lighting conditions (see last picture).

This object is turned on the lathe, sanded and finished with a matt (almost invisible) oil to give it a natural appearance.
